Propuestas educativas para el cambio social

Conectando la educación secundaria, las universidades y las comunidades

This book presents the results of the work carried out by the University of Barcelona team within the framework of the SCU4Change project. Through a process of documentation and research in a public secondary school, various educational experiences with transformative potential were explored. These experiences allowed for an analysis of how certain pedagogical approaches sought to foster the development of critical awareness, social commitment, and student agency. In turn, activities co-designed by students, teachers, and researchers were promoted to deepen the impact of these projects both inside and outside the classroom.

This book is intended for student teachers, future teachers, educators, teacher trainers, school leadership teams, and professionals in the field of education who are interested in promoting teaching committed to social change. The intention is to offer tools for reflecting on the role of schools in contexts of transformation, to raise questions about how to build alliances between universities, schools, and communities, and to share examples that, while specific to certain contexts, can inspire new ways of teaching, learning, and transforming from an inclusive and critical perspective.

Those of us who participated in the creation of this book hope that it will contribute to broadening the horizon of what is possible in education. We hope it will highlight the potential that emerges when pedagogical work is built on collaboration, critical thinking, and the conviction that another kind of school—more just, more inclusive, and more connected to the world—is not only necessary, but also possible.
